thank you, Pres.Cory.

The nation deeply mourns for the loss of a leader who paved way to the freedom we have right now. The first female President of South East Asia and Philippines Corazon Cojuangco Aquino has passed away. She lost her battle to colon cancer last August 1, 2009, 3.18 am in Makati Medical Center at the age of 76.

On her death, her magic is back. Last Monday, the same scenario of the People Power Revolution two decades ago was evident. Filipinos flocked to the streets and churches to pay their respect and say the final goodbye to the former president. Thousands came to the streets as her coffin was transported to the Manila Cathedral - showering the caravan with yellow confetti, waving yellow ribbons, wearing yellow shirts - the symbol of Corazon Aquino.

I was just 364 days old when the EDSA 1 happened, I may not personally experienced the greatness she has done for the country but the fact that I am enjoying and living in a democratic republic for that I am very thankful. To the icon of democracy, to the Yellow lady - goodbye and rest in peace.
